Markus Heumann discovered his passion for photography very young, when he was given his first Nikon camera at the age of 14. After completing a trade apprenticeship of photography in Hanover, he moved to Hamburg in 1994 to work as an assistant to international photographers. Markus Heumann opened his own photographic studio in Hamburg in 1998.
He is passionate about the detail in still life and food photography. He has won numerous prizes for his photography since 2001, including a Silver Lion in Cannes, two ADC nail awards and many awards and prizes at the New York Festival.

Markus Heumann’s studio offers professional postproduction with optional pre-press services. Thus, photo montages and look development can already be agreed during filming and photo shoots. His innovative techniques allow him to take flashlight photos and film footage, within the same lighting setup. High-speed photos are taken with an exposure time of 1/10.000th of a second. This short time freezes movements of liquids, for example. The maximum resolution of photos is 100 million pixels. Film footage can be recorded at high speeds of up to 2.500 frames per second. This slow motion shots are captured in Full HD quality (1080 x 1920 px).
